Dorothy Hamilton

Graveside services for Dorothy Hamilton were held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Bro. Roy Prather will officiate.

There was no visitation.

Mrs. Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Mexia.

She was born on April 17, 1924, in Portland, Maine to John and Lillian Norris. She moved to New Jersey as a child where she was raised by her mom and step-father, Fred Williamson.

Dorothy met her husband, Clifford Hamilton, while both were working at the same plant in New Jersey. They married on Sept. 23, 1943, and shared more than 58 years of marriage together before being separated by his death in 2001.

She moved to Teague with her husband in the late 1980’s. Mrs. Hamilton enjoyed painting and gardening and was a member of the Teague Art League and Mexia Garden Club.

She was a Methodist and member of Whitehouse Station Methodist Church in New Jersey.

She is survived by twin sons, Dennis Hamilton and wife Tami of Teague, and David Hamilton and wife Brenda of Usk, Washington; one daughter, Judy Tritschler and husband Dwaine of Teague; eight grandchildren; three sisters, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
