After search warrant executed... Local man is arrested

The Freestone County Sheriff?s Office, with assistance from the Teague Police Department and Tri-County Auto Task Force, executed a search warrant Tuesday, May 9th on East Hwy 84 near Teague City limits.

During the execution of the search warrant and investigation, some seven plus pounds of marijuana was seized on the property along with a number of pharmaceutical narcotics, mushrooms, 4 firearms, and $4900 cash. Also recovered were two trailers and a zero turn mower allegedly stolen out of Johnson County.

Arrested at the scene was one individual, Martin (Mo) Kalvin Buchanan, who has been charged for the following: ?1) Theft over $2,500 but less than $30,000; 2) Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, more than 4 grams but less than 200 grams; 3) Possession of Marijuana, over 5 lbs but less than 50 lbs; and 4) Possession of a Firearm by a felon.

Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley expressed his thanks to Lt. Willis, Lt. Aldrich, Deputy Cordova, Deputy Howerton, Reserve Deputy Mike Noll, Teague PD Chief Ramsey and Sgt. Mason, and the Auto Task Force team for a job well done.
