Michaud wins re-election

Only 100 of Teague?s 1,800 plus registered voters took time out to cast a ballot last week in the City Council election and over three-fourths of those votes cast were early votes.

Unofficial totals in the one contested race election show that incumbent Marilyn Michaud defeated challenger Jack ?Butch? Hansel by a 61-38 vote total. Unofficial totals also show Michaud winning in early ballots cast 45-31 and in ballots cast on election day, May 5th by a 16-7 margin.

Council members Ron Rasbeary (Place 2) and Chris Nickleberry (Place 4) were unopposed in their bids for re-election.
