Sales tax... Rebate check increases 19.73%

The City of Teague has received a check in the amount of $61,302.93 for their portion of the state sales tax rebate sent out each month by the State Comptroller?s office.
The February rebate check is a 19.73 percent increase from the $51,197.66 check sent to the city at this time last year. So far this year, the City of Teague has received $101,100.85, 18.76 percent higher than the $85,128.85 received for the first two months of 2016.
Three quarters of all sales tax rebate checks sent to the City of Teague are deposited into the general fund for local operations and the remaining twenty-five percent of the check is deposited into the Teague Economic Development Corporation?s fund account.
According to Texas Comptroller, Glenn Hegar, the State of Texas has distributed total net payments of $858.6 million in monthly sales tax revenue to Texas cities for the month of February. The number is 1.0 percent more than the total from 2016.
The City of Fairfield received a check in amount of $177,237.03 this month. The check is 18.94 percent less than the $218,668.20 check received at this time last year. So far this year, the City of Fairfield has received $298,677.46 a decrease of 14.00 percent from the $347,338.01 received in January and February of last year.
The City of Wortham received a February check totaling $15,121.64. . So far this year, Wortham has received a total of $23,640.38, a 137.57 percent increase over the $9,950.71 received by at this time last year.
The City of Streetman received a check in the amount of $3,731.00 this month. The check is 21.15 percent less than the $4,731.78 check received at this time last year. In 2017 Streetman has received a total of 6,726.18, a decrease of 17.41 percent from the $8,144.63 received thru February of 2016.
The February sales tax allocations as a whole in Freestone County totaled $257,391.00, a .06 decrease from the $274,596 collected in February of last year.
Anderson County February sales tax allocations totaled $643,513.66, a .00 percent increase from the $690,761.13 received at this time last year. So far this year allocations for Anderson County total $690,761.13 a decrease of 00 percent from the 2016 total of $104,897.58 at this time last year.
February sales tax allocations for Leon County totaled $176,002.69, 00 percent lower than the $270,553.66 received in February 2016. The 2016 total for February last year was $346,804.16 00 percent higher than the 270,553.16 received in February of this year.
Limestone County received sales tax allocations in the amount of $348,800.12, a decrease of .00 percent from last years total of $353,303.38. So far this year Limestone County has received 621,938.85, a 00 percent decrease from the 609,832.35 collected last year.
