United Way Healthcare Navigators coming to help residents Jan. 26th
BABY NEW YEAR 2017 has arrived and is the winner of The Teague Chronicle’s First Freestone County Baby of 2017 contest. Baby Rayna Elaine Pratt was born on January 4, 2017, 8:40 p.m., at Providence Hospital in Waco. She weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and was 21¼ inches long. Her proud parents are Eli and Hannah Pratt of Streetman, Texas. She was welcomed home by her big sister Raeleigh, who is two years old. Proud grandparents, who also welcome baby Rayna into the family, are Mike and Michelle Pratt of Fairfield and Danny and Jackie Richardson of Streetman. Rayna will be showered with many beautiful gifts from generous merchants of the area.
United Way of Central Texas Healthcare Navigators will be at the Teague Library on January 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., assisting Teague Residents and greater Freestone County Residents with questions regarding their healthcare, and options for coverage. In addition to providing information, Navigators will be available to assist residents with enrollment into a health plan, and apply for lower cost options, or an exemption from the shared responsibility payment, should they qualify.
Our Navigators are state and federally certified to provide unbiased information and assistance for individuals families and small businesses. They are local resources for enrollment into qualified health plans in the Marketplace. Navigators help people who qualify for lower costs gain access through the Advanced Premium Tax Credit and Cost Share Reduction. In addition, Navigators have a broad knowledge of local programs and can provide referrals to those unable to qualify for Marketplace programs. Navigators cannot provide recommendations on health care choices for individuals but are available to help clients make informed decisions that best suit their needs.
Open Enrollment for 2017 is November 1, 2016 to January 31 2017, however, Navigators are available all year long to answer insurance-related questions, or assist individuals who qualify for a special enrollment period ? those individuals who have experienced with in the past 60 days or will experience within the next 60 days a change in health coverage status, family size, income, immigration status, or a move. Navigators are also available to explain the qualifications for exemptions from the 2017 Shared Responsibility Payment (the fine for not having insurance) and help qualified individuals apply for an exemption.
